Therapeutic Support Professional

Our residential care program seeks a dedicated Therapeutic Support Professional to provide intensive support to children and young people with complex emotional, behavioural, and psychological needs.

This role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team to implement individualised therapeutic plans that address the root causes of behaviour. You will be central to helping young people develop trust, experience safety, and form positive relationships in both residential and community settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build meaningful therapeutic relationships with young people
  • Support young people through complex behaviours using consistent practices
  • Implement and maintain therapeutic care frameworks based on attachment theory and behaviour support
  • Respond effectively to crises while maintaining a calm presence
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
  • A deep commitment to working with children and young people with high needs
  • Strong understanding of trauma and its impacts on development and behaviour
  • Capacity to remain calm and effective in challenging situations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
Selection Criteria:
  • Experience working therapeutically with young people with complex trauma or mental health challenges
  • Proven ability to follow and implement case plans and behaviour support plans
  • Ability to use evidence-informed approaches such as social learning and positive behavioural support

Work Environment: Our team operates in a variety of settings, including residential care facilities and community locations. You will be required to travel between these locations and engage with young people in various contexts.
