Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the position of Manager, responsible for leading our team in providing exceptional care and services to residents and patients. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of healthcare regulations and protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Management
- Manage and oversee the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of assessments and care plans.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize resident and patient care, working closely with interdisciplinary teams to achieve this goal.
- Oversee the submission of reports and data to regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards.
- Collaborate with staff members to communicate assessment and care plan information, promoting a culture of transparency and accountability.
- Ensure effective management of Medicare and managed care logs, directing decision-making regarding insurance coverage, cut dates, and MDS schedules.
- Maximize reimbursement through careful oversight of skilled resident and patient statuses.
- Participate in care conferences, remaining available during surveys and audits of the facility and/or its documentation.
- Quality, Compliance, and Risk Management
- Lead the interdisciplinary team in ensuring accurate and timely MDS, CAA, and Plan of Care documentation.
- Provide final review of MDS and Plan of Care documentation, offering education and advice as necessary, and authorizing completion.
- Maintain and communicate schedules of MDS and Plan of Care due dates, fostering a culture of punctuality and reliability.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in documentation regulations, RUG categories, and legislation affecting MDS reimbursement issues.
- Administration and Reporting
- Promote a culture of excellence in resident and patient care, encouraging continuous improvement and innovation.
- Assist with reviewing and addressing quality measures, survey findings, quality assurance findings, and other assigned responsibilities.
- People Management and Development
- Supervise MDS Nurses, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
- Integrate diverse perspectives, expertise, and values within the organization, enhancing collaboration and teamwork.
- Conduct thorough performance evaluations, supporting professional growth and development.
- Communicate performance expectations clearly, defining job roles and responsibilities, and identifying areas for improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education
- Nursing degree from an accredited college, university, or vocational school required.
- Current unencumbered license for the state of Ohio to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) required.
- Experience
- Five years experience with MDS required.
- Two years experience in a supervisory role required.
- Three years experience as a nurse in a long-term care facility required.
- Two years experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices required.

Working Conditions:
The successful candidate must be able to lift, transfer, push, or pull residents/patients or equipment/supplies weighing up to 50 pounds. They must also be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, subject to falls, burns, odors, cuts, and exposure to infectious waste, disease, and conditions, including AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
