Job Title: Chief Mechanical Designer

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Chief Mechanical Designer.

This is an opportunity to shape the future of water infrastructure in Australia.

  • Lead the technical quality of water and wastewater design projects, ensuring high standards.
  • Manage design packages across various projects and programs, mentoring emerging talent and collaborating with local and national teams.

You will be part of a collaborative team solving complex design challenges that impact communities and the environment.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualifications.
  • Chartered status with Engineers Australia or actively working toward CPEng.
  • Solid experience in engineering consultancy or design roles with contractors or asset owners, with water industry experience being essential.
  • Strong technical capabilities in water infrastructure and treatment systems.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic design for water utilities and pump stations, as well as CFD and pipe stress analysis.
  • Confidence in selecting and specifying equipment for complex systems.
  • Proficiency in stress analysis using software tools or analytical techniques.
  • Exposure to Plant 3D or Inventor is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of CHAIR, HAZOP, and safety-in-design practices.
