Job Title:

The Skid Steer Operator plays a pivotal role in the construction of utility-scale solar farm projects. This individual is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a skid steer to support mechanical structure installation.

  • Operate skid steer to lift, move, and place structural components including steel posts, racking systems, and solar modules.
  • Assist the mechanical installation crew by staging and distributing materials to designated installation areas.
  • Conduct daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance of the skid steer.
  • Adhere to site safety procedures, traffic management plans, and environmental requirements.
  • Support general site duties as required, including ground crew tasks when not operating machinery.
  • Report mechanical faults, safety hazards, and incidents to the Site Supervisor.

This role requires strong understanding of load handling, lifting operations, and machine limits. The ideal candidate will possess a White Card (Construction Induction Card) & Skid Steer Ticket, minimum 1 year of experience operating telehandlers on civil or solar projects, ability to work in remote locations and outdoor environments, commitment to safety, teamwork, and productivity.
