About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Officer to join our team in a dynamic and diverse environment. The successful candidate will work on complex contract management and administration work, providing advice and assistance on policy, procurement, and contract management issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage and negotiate with clients and stakeholders, including project team members and subject matter experts, to respond to complex enquiries and contract management issues.
  • Monitor and manage contract administration, performance, and risks against the contract, contributing to implementing appropriate action.
  • Undertake procurement and contract management activities, ensuring compliance with legislation, procurement policies, and procedures.
  • Apply knowledge to deliver procurement documentation, including templates, reports, submissions, plans, strategies, and risk.
  • Understand and apply legal principles, legislative, and mandatory policy compliance obligations, and critical commercial risk and performance requirements.
About Our Team

We are working with experts from the UK, USA, Canada, and Europe to provide six frigates optimised for anti-submarine warfare to the Royal Australian Navy. The frigates are being constructed at the Osborne Naval Shipyard, South Australia, utilising the latest production technologies.

Requirements
  • Relevant contract management and procurement experience.
  • Ability to contribute to and strive for best-for-defence outcomes in complex contract management work, within an integrated workforce.
  • Knowledge of legislative frameworks, government decision-making, and Defence's mission and policy requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Critical thinking skills, with the ability to be assertive in decision making.
  • Building and sustaining productive relationships with supervisors and team members, and actively contribute to team work and group activities.
