**The Role**
Would you like to be part of Australia’s effort to acquire new Electronic Warfare (EW) capabilities - highly significant Defence technology that will position Australia to respond to strategic challenges in the coming decades? An exciting opportunity exists for multitalented individuals to join the Joint Electronic Warfare Directorate as a Project Support Officer delivering Joint projects and Programs.

The position will undertake a considerable level of stakeholder engagement from both Commonwealth and Industry to ensure the successful delivery of Joint capabilities. You will be accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve complex project activities within an integrated workforce while maintaining a well-developed understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making, policy and procedure and Defence’s mission.

You will be responsible for organising workflow and making independent decisions relating to your area of responsibility and you may be required to undertake specialist research and analysis and provide procedural and administrative support to achieve results. You will display initiative, enjoy working in a fast-paced changing work environment and deliver quality work within deadlines and competing priorities.

**About our Team**
Joint Information Warfare Branch (JICB) is an integrated team of military (ADF), civilians (APS) and contractors (industry) who contribute to developing the Joint Force. JICB develops and manages a number of capabilities being:

- Joint Simulation Capabilities (JSC).
- Joint Cyber & Influence (C&I).
- Joint Position Navigation and Timing (PNT).
- Joint Electronic Warfare (EW).
- Project Management Office (PMO) including Health Knowledge Management & Digitisation programs.

This team conducts extensive stakeholder engagement, presenting complex initiatives and planning proposals, securing agreement and participates in implementation of a range of EW initiatives. In joining Joint EW you will support the team in solving highly complex problems and will be instrumental in developing future EW capabilities.

The APS 5 Project Support Officer will be an individual who is able to collaborate effectively with the project team in order to develop, coordinate and maintain a logical project work plan to deliver the required capability. You will enjoy working across a variety of tasks such as scheduling, procurement and project administration. You will be able to use your initiative to make informed decisions and solve problems relating to your areas of responsibility. You will support project managers in order to achieve organisational objectives, while continuing to pursue your own self-development goals.

The successful applicant will contribute to a small dynamic team that consists of both Commonwealth and Industry members and possess the following skills and capabilities:

- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- The ability to sustain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and negotiate effectively to deliver business outcomes;
- Sound problem solving skills with the ability to use initiative to resolve challenges and analyse and interpret legislative/policy requirements;
- Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to multi-task in a high-pressure environment and meet deadlines;
- Able to quickly adapt across diverse tasks, including administration, contract management, governance, research, preparation and presentation of materials, draft, evaluate and execute written documents;
- Work collaboratively to achieve shared objectives within a team environment; As part of this role you will be responsible for the following activities:

- Support the delivery of procedural, operational, administrative and business activities to deliver Project outcomes;
- Respond to Project management documentation tasks such as scheduling, financial, project and executive reporting;
- Management of contract deliverables to required quality standards and deliverable timeframes; and
- Stakeholder engagement.
