**The Role**
As a Commercial Support Officer, your role is accountable under limited direction to perform procurement activities within an integrated workforce and adhere to a framework of legislation, established principles, work practices and procedures in accordance with Defence’s mission and business objectives.

Contracting and procurement is a specialised career path and these roles offer excellent training and development opportunities across all levels. Due to the diverse nature of procurement activities that JICB undertakes, you will build valuable experience across a variety of procurement disciplines.

**About our Team**
Joint Information Capabilities Branch (JICB) is one of four branches within the Joint Capabilities Division of Joint Capabilities Group (JCG). JCG was formed in July 2017 with the mandate to deliver joint warfighting capabilities to the ADF.

JICB develops and manages a number of capabilities being:

- Joint Simulation Capabilities (JSC).
- Joint Cyber & Influence (C&I).
- Assured Position Navigation Timing (PNT).
- Joint Electronic Warfare (EW).
- Project Management Office (PMO) including Health Knowledge Management.

Joint Information Capabilities (JIC) is a blended workforce of Australian Public Service (APS), Australian Defence Force (ADF) and Contracted personnel who work together with a One Defence mindset to support Defence outcomes with offices located within the Canberra region.

As an APS 6 Commercial Support Officer, you would demonstrate the following:

- An understanding of procurement fundamentals; including government policies, processes and principles, and ability to interpret basic contract terms and conditions and identify key deliverables.
- Flexibility in approach, adaptable to changing priorities, and ability to deliver required outcomes with limited direction.
