About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Claims Officer to join our team in Brisbane or Sydney. As a Senior Claims Officer, you will be responsible for managing a diverse and complex portfolio of Injury Liability claims, providing technical expertise to support Claims Officers, and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively manage a diverse portfolio of complex Injury Liability claims end to end
  • Provide specialist technical advice to claims staff on policy coverage, liability, quantum, strategy, and reserving
  • Appoint and manage external service providers, including External Legal Panel
  • Maintain claim reserves in a timely manner in accordance with reserving guidelines and practices
  • Provide underwriters and claims managers with feedback from issues or risk deficiencies identified during claims management and develop own technical industry knowledge
  • Contribute to the development of the team's market profile through superior claims service to our targeted market segment
Requirements
  • Proven experience within public liability risks (injury claims years experience mandatory)
  • Prior experience mentoring claims staff in technical claims roles
  • Legal background preferred, not essential
