Canteen Operations Manager

The Canteen Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school canteen, ensuring a safe and healthy food environment for students and staff. This includes managing food safety precautions, the canteen budget, and supervising any additional staff or volunteers.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare the canteen for business, ensuring correct hygiene standards and safe food handling practices are used.
- Coordinate the menu and special lunch days in accordance with NSW Healthy School Canteen Guidelines.
- Order goods from approved suppliers and check deliveries for quality and quantity.
- Maintain adequate stock levels and ensure all equipment, materials, and floors are kept clean and maintained.
- Welcome, value, and supervise the support and contribution of canteen volunteers.
- Maintain adequate financial records, including order and daily takings records.
- Work in collaboration with the Principal and Office Manager to ensure the financial viability of the canteen.
- Support the school community to implement and maintain environmentally sustainable practices.
- Conduct stock takes and arrange for thorough canteen clean at the end of each term.
- Must hold relevant NSW Working with Children Registration.
- Skill level which assumes and requires knowledge equivalent to Certificate III or relevant experience.
- First Aid trained is desirable.
