Job Description:

As a Chief Human Resources Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Department and the broader public health system. Your leadership skills will significantly influence translating strategies into contemporary HR initiatives to support a highly engaged workforce.

You will lead a large team of HR professionals, driving a values-based leadership approach, delivering all human resource and industrial relations matters across the organisation. This encompasses over 6000 employees.

The successful candidate will have opportunities to lead by example, fostering a culture of excellence within the HR Branch. They will also have influence at senior levels, making a tangible difference in the organisation.

Key challenges and responsibilities include:

  • Driving contemporary practice across a large organisation.
  • Shaping and developing their team.
  • Fostering a fulfilling HR role that adds value to a critical service for Queenslanders.

To succeed in this role, you must be a progressive HR and business leader with experience leading contemporary HR teams in large, complex organisations with significant transformational agendas. You should possess:

  • A collaborative and flexible leadership style.
  • A relationship focus and ability to influence across all levels.
  • Experience working in complex organisations where diverse stakeholders require effective collaboration.
  • A proven track record of leading large transformation agendas in innovative organisations.
  • Strategic awareness and commercial ability to drive whole-of-organisational outcomes.

Tertiary qualifications and post-graduate studies are highly regarded. Additionally, an understanding of industry opportunities and challenges is essential.
