Key Roles and Responsibilities

As an Application Specialist, you will provide first and second-level application and development support to internal business stakeholders across core business systems. This is a hands-on role providing a blend of project application and operational support responsibilities across several business system implementations.

Daily Tasks:
  • Deliver business and technical assistance for core business applications and projects
  • Collaborate with business units to help resolve support requests
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, document application support issues and incidents
  • Collect and document requirements for application enhancements and improvements
  • Liaise with internal and third-party technical teams to deliver on application support requests
  • Conduct user acceptance testing on support issues
  • Primary point of contact/help desk for systems and process queries
  • Provide application development support to developers and business analysts in projects
  • Responsible for inputting, updating and maintaining the data integrity of central records
  • Act as a super-user of the Business Systems with a strong understanding of the relevant operations, procedures, and policies to assist all users in their day-to-day routines as part of the Central Support Unit
  • Provide applications training to business users
  • Support project activities within a portfolio of in-flight projects
  • Make contributions to process improvements
About You:
  • Prior experience in an application support role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of relational databases, data flows, and data analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in application support, systems analysis
  • ITIL Foundations (desirable but not essential)
  • Prior experience in applications testing (desirable but not essential)
  • Working with service desk applications and service management environments
