Role Summary
As a Technical Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert technical guidance and oversight to our claims team. Your role will involve mentoring and coaching team members on complex claims issues, ensuring that our clients receive the highest level of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize your extensive knowledge of Workers Compensation to handle complex claims and serve as a technical resource for team members.
- Advise and support employer clients seeking specialized technical assistance.
- Communicate effectively with Legal Panel Firms regarding pre-litigated and litigated matters within stipulated timelines.
- Provide updates to employers and consultants on litigated claims.
- Conduct quality reviews of adverse decisions and endorse appropriate actions.
- Participate in case conferences and claims review meetings as necessary.
- Assist in pre-conciliation checks and strategy discussions, attending conciliation conferences when required.
- Mentor and develop junior team members to enhance their technical skills.
We are looking for individuals who possess:
- Experience in the Workers Compensation sector and familiarity with relevant legislation.
- Strong ability to interpret and apply the Accident Compensation Act.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Proven interpersonal abilities.
- Experience in a client-facing role.
- Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- A Bachelor of Law Degree or relevant industry qualifications are preferred.
