
Heavy Plant Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Technician to perform scheduled preventative maintenance and urgent repairs on heavy plant, trucks, asphalt pavers, profilers, and related equipment.
- This role is critical in ensuring our machinery operates safely, reliably, and at peak performance, supporting the delivery of civil construction and asphalt projects.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting and testing mechanical systems, hydraulic circuits, pneumatic systems, and engine performance to identify faults.
- Scheduled preventative maintenance and urgent repairs on heavy plant, trucks, asphalt pavers, profilers, and related equipment
- Inspecting and testing mechanical systems, hydraulic circuits, pneumatic systems, and engine performance to identify faults
- Adjusting, modifying, and calibrating equipment and components to improve performance and ensure operational specifications are met
- Installing, assembling, and testing mechanical components and systems
- Preparing accurate maintenance records, technical reports, and parts requisitions
- Using precision measuring tools and diagnostic equipment to verify compliance with engineering and safety standards
- Working with supervisors and operators to identify performance issues and recommend practical solutions
- Maintaining the workshop, tools, and equipment in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition
- Ensuring all work complies with WHS, environmental, and quality requirements
- Sourcing and ordering replacement parts and materials to support timely repairs
- A trade qualification as a Mechanical Engineering Technician, Fitter, or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience maintaining and repairing heavy plant, trucks, and specialised asphalt paving and profiling machinery
