Therapeutic Guidelines Limited (TGL) is an independent not-for-profit organisation. Its mission is to promote the quality use of medicines (QUM) through the publication of evidence-based clinical information, including Therapeutic Guidelines and, since 2023, Australian Prescriber. Therapeutic Guidelines is a point-of-care clinical reference database covering over 2500 diagnoses and Australian Prescriber is a free, evidence-based journal that covers a broad range of topics addressing the intersection of quality use of medicines, diagnostics and pathology. We have an outstanding full time opportunity within our Publishing team, reporting directly to the Senior Manager Production and Content Operations.
We are looking for a talented Digital Content Producer to join the team on a full time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, executing, and delivering content, ensuring TGL's publishing standards are met. The role involves managing and optimising digital content, ensuring accuracy, user-centricity, and efficient delivery across platforms. It also provides support for editorial, digital production and administrative tasks throughout the content development process.
About you
You will bring a tertiary qualification in communications, publishing, journalism, healthcare, digital production or a related field. Equivalent industry experience can be considered in place of formal study. Here is a breakdown of the key skills and experiences we expect from you:
- Strong communication skills – good listening and collaboration skills are essential when working with colleagues and subject experts.
- Technical competence – confidence in using Content Management Systems (CMS), understanding structured content, experience with end-to-end digital releases across production environments, and working with digital assets such as images, graphics and metadata.
- HTML/XML – understanding, troubleshooting and fine-tuning code (eg. DITA, XML and HTML).
- Time/task management – managing time and resources with various tools (eg. Jira, ClickUp, or Trello).
- Attention to detail – a sharp eye for accuracy, style, formatting and consistency across all content.
- Organisational skills – the ability to manage multiple projects, various deadlines without losing track of priorities.
- Problem-solving mindset – the ability to troubleshoot formatting or publishing issues, find practical solutions and maintain calm under pressure.
- Collaboration and teamwork – comfortable working across teams, taking feedback and contributing ideas to achieve shared goals.
As the ideal candidate, you bring:
- Experience in digital publishing is essential.
- Experience of health sector editing or publishing is desirable.
- Experience of managing references and performing medical literature database searches (eg with PubMed) is desirable.
- Experience of project management is desirable.
If you'd been here last week, you would have:
- Collated a Word manuscript and prepared it for final editorial checks.
- Undertaken reference management in a guidelines' library.
- Transformed Word documents to DITA, ingested them into the CCMS and performed various content management tasks.
- Helped the Production team with innovation sessions to harness more of the CCMS capabilities.
- Given feedback on new graphic design iterations to improve the visual cohesion of the product.
