Job Title

A Family Strengthening Specialist will work with families expecting a child or with children under 18 to strengthen relationships so children can live safely at home, free from abuse and neglect, and have the best start in life.

  • This role is part of a broader family preservation program that aims to support vulnerable families and prevent child protection involvement.
  • The successful candidate will engage and support families with regular in-home services, assessing their strengths and needs, and developing case plans to build resilience and positive relationships.
  • They will also use evidence-informed practices and partner with other services to support families.
Key Responsibilities
  • To provide holistic support to families, focusing on their individual needs and circumstances.
  • To develop and implement case plans that address the specific requirements of each family.
  • To maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring timely and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • To collaborate with other professionals and agencies, promoting a coordinated approach to supporting vulnerable families.
Requirements
  • A relevant qualification (diploma or degree) in social work, human services, or a related field.
  • Experience in family preservation, child protection, or a related area.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective engagement with diverse families and communities.
  • A holistic, strengths-based approach to working with families.
  • Ability to assess child protection risk and develop strategies to mitigate it.
  • A current driver's license and reliable transportation.

Duties
  • Family Preservation Case Manager: Engage and support families with regular in-home services.

Skills and Experience

As a Family Preservation Case Manager, you will have:
