Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and qualified counsellor to support the Year 5 and 6 students on our Regis Campus.

The successful applicant will work collaboratively with other members of the Pastoral Care team to provide specialised assistance in regard to individual counselling, liaison and case management, referrals to external professionals/agencies as well as providing advice and resources for teachers and parents.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual counselling services to students.
  • Collaborate with the Pastoral Care team to develop and implement strategies to support student wellbeing.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies and professionals to provide additional support to students.
  • Provide advice and resources to teachers and parents to support student learning and wellbeing.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Formal qualifications in psychology.
  • Current registration with AHPRA.
  • Experience in an educational context.
  • Experience counselling adolescent males using evidence-based interventions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the Mission and Values of the College.
  • Collaborative practices and a commitment to working as part of a team.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional learning.
  • Outstanding communication skills, particularly with adolescent boys.
  • Sensitivity and empathy.
  • Maintenance of high ethical standards.
  • Ability to engender trust.
  • Self-motivation.
  • A current Working with Children Check and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the safety, welfare and well-being of children and young people.
