Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Team Lead to join our shipbuilding program. As the lead electrical engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership to resolve electrical engineering issues during shipbuilding.

The successful candidate will have significant experience as a professional electrical engineer and be able to apply technical knowledge to shipbuilding issues. You will also have experience in developing electrical equipment designs, undertaking typical design analyses, and implementing electrical/electronic solutions and its integration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mobilise and lead a team of up to 15 engineers and para-professionals, including mentoring and coaching.
  • Conduct technical assessments to resolve electrical engineering issues during shipbuilding.
  • Provide an interface between production engineering teams and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain repair threshold documents in collaboration with design authorities and stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications

You will need to possess an engineering degree qualification satisfying the requirements for chartered membership of the institute of Engineers Australia.

Additionally, you will require excellent verbal and written communication skills, customer relations skills, and understanding of requirements, design, safety, and verification.
