Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our custodial operations, overseeing the strategic and operational direction of our correctional facilities.

This key leadership role involves managing a portfolio of custodial facilities across the state, driving quality outcomes and innovation. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with corporate staff on human resources, finance, health and safety, and industrial issues.

About Our Organization: We operate Victoria's adult prison system, providing safe and secure environments that deliver programs and services supporting prisoner rehabilitation. Our correctional network includes 11 public prisons, one transition centre, and three privately operated prisons.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Deputy Commissioner, Custodial Operations, you will be responsible for managing a significant program of work, including line management of Prison General Managers across Victoria.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Knowledge and specialist expertise in custodial operations or similar complex operational program areas
  • Proven record and high-level skills in problem-solving and developing solutions to meet business needs
  • Highly developed leadership and influencing skills, particularly from an operational or institutional environment
