Alstom, a global leader in the transportation industry, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join its team as a Rolling Stock Maintenance Specialist.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of rolling stock equipment at the Lilyfield Sydney Light Rail Depot. This role requires a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in fault finding, diagnosis, and repair of complex systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing routine examinations and maintenance tasks on tram equipment installed on Sydney Light Rail Vehicles (LRV) sub-systems.
  • Carrying out wheel changes for light rail vehicles, a physically demanding task that requires attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Actively maintaining and repairing tram equipment installed on LRVs, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure quality control measures are implemented.

In addition to technical skills, the ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, with a can-do attitude and a commitment to safety.

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in the rail or rolling stock industry.
  • Demonstrated experience with fault finding, diagnosis, and repair of complex systems.
