Cochlear, a global leader in implantable hearing solutions, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Process Engineer to join our team at our global headquarters in Macquarie University. As a Mechanical Process Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing stable and reliable manufacturing processes, supporting supply chain and manufacturing improvement projects, and ensuring we have the capabilities to manufacture our increasing volumes.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a collaborative and diverse group of people to develop and implement safe, scalable, stable, and robust manufacturing processes across the manufacturing network for new and commercially available products. You will be responsible for meeting the manufacturing strategy by relocating or duplicating processes across the manufacturing network, delivering complex processes in line with project objectives, targets, and timelines within your area of expertise.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Biomedical, or Electrical Engineering, preferably with 2+ years of experience in a similar engineering role within a highly regulated industry. You should have experience in process development or mechanical design, developing and introducing manufacturing processes and products internally or at an external supplier, risk management methodology, and validation and verification of manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop stable and reliable manufacturing processes within Cochlear and at suppliers of manufactured components.
  • Support the supply chain and R&D group project execution by developing and implementing safe, scalable, stable, and robust manufacturing processes across the manufacturing network for new and commercially available products.
  • Ensure that manufacturing processes and associated documents comply with Cochlear's QMS and international regulations.
  • Meet the manufacturing strategy by relocating or duplicating processes across the manufacturing network.
  • Deliver complex processes in line with project objectives, targets, and timelines within your area of expertise.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Biomedical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar engineering role within a highly regulated industry.
  • Experience in process development or mechanical design.
  • Experience in developing and introducing manufacturing processes and products internally or at an external supplier.
  • Experience in risk management methodology.
  • Experience in validation and verification of manufacturing processes.
