About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team at Weir Minerals in Artarmon. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for performing general fitting and assembly duties on various equipment, ensuring safe and effective maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completing workshop repairs and refurbishments on critical equipment.
  • Inspecting and repairing mechanical infrastructure.
  • Repair, maintain and test equipment as per scope of work.
  • Preventative maintenance of plant and equipment, with a focus on maintaining safety and maximising production.
  • Resolve operational and technical equipment concerns.
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Requirements:

  • Minimum qualification – Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Mechanical Fitter).
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts.
  • Experience with heavy machinery, fault finding, repairs of equipment.
  • Welding and machining experience is (Desirable, but not essential)
  • Ability to effectively communicate and write reports.
  • Competent with the use of CMMS (computerized maintenance management system).
