Principal Mechanical Engineer Role

The successful candidate will lead a team of mechanical engineers in the design and documentation of mechanical services systems for various projects. These projects include office buildings, retail spaces, residences, public buildings, and educational facilities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Designing mechanical services systems, including air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems.
  • Designing other building services (Electrical, Hydraulic, Fire Protection, and Environmentally Sustainable Design).
  • Knowledge of Australian Standards and Building Codes.
  • Staff management and leadership.
  • Contractual documentation, including specifications.
  • Liaising with clients, drafters, builders, architects, and other authorities.
  • Project management, contract administration, and construction supervision experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical)
  • Registered Building Practitioner in Victoria (Mechanical)
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in Australia in building services consulting.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of building services engineering and building code requirements.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
