Join a team of passionate professionals in the field of coding and documentation improvement. As a Coding Educator, you will be part of a friendly team supporting coders at Werribee Mercy Hospital and Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced or aspiring Coding Educator/Auditor looking for variety. You will have responsibility for coding audits, training units, education development and projects as they arise.

Coding Audits: Conduct thorough audits across all 20 specialties to ensure accuracy and optimal funding.

Training and Development

  • Provide ongoing education for the coding team and support trainee coders.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive training programs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years coding experience, ideally with exposure to a diverse casemix;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ICD-10-AM Australian Coding Standards and National Funding Model principles;
  • Relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in Health Information Management;
  • Eligible for full membership of the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA);
  • High attention to detail and a passion for coding quality;
