About the Role

As a key member of our coding quality team, you will have the opportunity to work on various projects and initiatives aimed at improving coding accuracy and quality across our healthcare facilities. Your expertise in coding audits, education development, and training units will be invaluable in supporting our coders and ensuring that we maintain high standards of coding excellence.

  • Coding Audits: Conduct thorough and accurate coding audits across multiple specialties to ensure compliance with coding standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Education Development: Develop and deliver training programs for coding teams, focusing on coding best practices, new developments, and industry trends.
  • Training Units: Design and implement training units to support coders in their daily work, promoting efficient and accurate coding practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in coding, preferably with exposure to diverse casemix.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ICD-10-AM Australian Coding Standards and NFM principles.
  • Relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in Health Information Management.
  • Eligibility for full membership of the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA).
  • High attention to detail and a passion for coding quality.
