Disability Support Specialist
The role of a disability support worker is multifaceted, requiring a unique blend of skills and compassion to provide high-quality care and support.
Individuals in this position work closely with clients to identify and achieve their goals, promoting independence, wellbeing, and community inclusion. This may involve accompanying clients to appointments and outings, assisting with daily living tasks such as cleaning and meal preparation, and providing mobility support and manual handling services.
To be successful in this role, applicants should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and their families. A current National Police Check, Working with Children Check, and First Aid Certificate are also essential requirements.
While industry experience and knowledge of person-centred disability care are desirable, they are not necessary for this position. Instead, we value individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional care and support, and who are willing to learn and grow with our organisation.
Key criteria for this role include:
- Holding a valid driver's license and access to a registered and insured vehicle
- Possession of working rights in Australia
- Proof of Covid vaccination, including booster shots
We offer a supportive and inclusive work environment, with opportunities for professional development and growth.
