Job Overview:

Plumpton House School is an inclusive educational environment for students with complex behavioral/emotional needs, providing a supportive atmosphere where students can thrive academically and develop essential life skills.

A comprehensive curriculum catering to individual differences in achievement and ability is provided, incorporating literacy and numeracy programs, as well as co-curricular priorities in the Arts, sport, and vocational skills programs.

Students learn in well-resourced classrooms located in recently upgraded outdoor environments designed to engage children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effective instructional leadership and continuous improvement
  • Deep understanding of Department and Government policy and procedures relating to special education
  • Leading staff to develop students' academic, social, emotional, physical, and creative growth
  • Enhancing partnerships with parents/carers and community organizations
  • Establishing and maintaining authentic educational and cultural partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, staff, and community members

Requirements:

  • High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on delivering high quality education
  • Leading and managing rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
  • Building positive relationships and engaging all levels of the school and educational community through effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Developing and performing staff to improve teaching and learning
  • Planning systems and managing resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
  • Leading staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and ensuring quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
