Job Opportunity: Workplace Relations and Employment Lawyer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workplace Relations and Employment Lawyer to join our Brisbane office. As a key member of our Workplace Relations, Employment & Safety (WRES) practice, you will work closely with our partners to advise clients on all aspects of workplace relations, including industrial relations, employment, occupational health and safety, and anti-discrimination.

About the Role

This is a full-time permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to grow your career by working on a wide range of matters, from industrial strategy and disputes to project management and support, compliance and regulatory matters, restructuring, underpayments, and litigation across most Courts and Tribunals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on employment and industrial relations matters, including workplace disputes, employment contracts, and industrial relations strategies.
  • Develop and implement compliance and regulatory strategies to ensure clients' businesses are in line with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their business needs and provide tailored advice to support their growth and success.
  • Collaborate with our partners and other lawyers to deliver high-quality advice and services to clients.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in employment and industrial relations laws and regulations, and apply this knowledge to provide expert advice to clients.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working on a range of employment and industrial relations matters.
  • Ability to draft clear, concise, correct, and commercial advice and documents.
  • Strong sense of purpose, ambition, and a proactive approach to work.
  • Strong people skills, with the ability to communicate and build rapport with clients.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with impact to both internal contacts and external clients.
  • High degree of initiative, dedication, and organisational ability, with a strong client and commercial focus.
  • Proactive attitude towards personal development, with a commitment to expanding skills and knowledge to meet client needs.
