Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Resource Sustainability Specialist.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working on complex projects and developing innovative strategies to promote waste reduction and resource conservation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective waste management and resource recovery strategies
  • Undertake project work identified within relevant plans and policies
  • Prepare and analyze reports on project progress and outcomes
  • Provide excellent customer service via phone, online, and face-to-face interactions
  • Collaborate with local, regional, state, and other relevant bodies on joint projects and initiatives
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of educational programs, events, and activities focused on sustainability and waste reduction

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environment or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in waste management and resource recovery
  • Local government experience in a similar role (desirable)
  • Driver's License (Class C) - NSW
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve project goals
