Our Signaling and Communications discipline is looking for aspiring Rail Apprentices who will learn from expert tradespersons and gain practical on-the-job experience. You'll complete a structured learning and development program, gaining skills and qualifications for a big future in our industry.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Electrical trade, including wiring regulations.
  • Installation, testing, repair and problem-solving low voltage circuits.
  • Installation and testing requirements for Railway Signaling equipment.

Working Conditions:

  • Based out of the John Holland Seven Hills workshop.
  • Workshop and site-based work throughout apprenticeship and career.
  • Must be flexible to work different shifts, including overtime, weekend work and night shift work.
  • John Holland will cover the cost of successfully completed TAFE units.
  • Must be able to provide own transport to travel to work sites.
  • Availability to work in regional areas is required.

Selection Process:

The selection process will include:

  • Psychometric, Literacy and Numeracy assessments.
  • Reference checks.
  • Pre-employment Medicals including Drug and Alcohol screening.
