Locomotive Driver Role Overview

Aurizon is currently seeking applications for a qualified locomotive driver to join the bulk business. Based at the Taree depot, this opportunity is open to qualified drivers who would like to work in a company that appreciates the efforts of its employees and is committed to making their experience enjoyable and rewarding.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating locomotives, including mainline, shunting and marshalling tasks. They will also be required to examine and certify trains as ready for departure, work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards, and maintain a high level of on-time running.

Key Responsibilities:

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance
  • Ability to work a 24/7 shift roster
  • Experience working in freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving
  • Certificate IV in Rail Operations (or equivalent)
