About the Job:

We are seeking a skilled Locomotive Operative to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of locomotives on our network.

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to safety and a proven track record of working in high-pressure environments. You will also have experience with Safe Working systems and a Certificate IV in Rail Operations or equivalent.

  • Examine and certify trains as ready for departure
  • Work in accordance with our safety and operational standards and procedures
  • Maintain a high level of on-time running
  • Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives
  • Provide high-quality customer service to enable us to meet our business objectives

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong commitment to safety
  • Experience working in high-pressure environments
  • A Certificate IV in Rail Operations or equivalent
  • A current unrestricted driver's license
  • Extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience
  • Knowledge of Safe Working systems (NSW & QLD)
