Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Operations Technician to join our team in Data Center Engineering Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of critical systems, including generators, switchboards/switchgears, UPSs, PDUs, AHUs, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge and skills, as well as excellent communication and collaboration abilities. They will work closely with other engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles to deliver high standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

The role involves troubleshooting and operating electrical and mechanical equipment, managing contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors, and ensuring that all work is done according to established practices and local legislation.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Review management of routine and corrective maintenance on critical systems such as switch gear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc.
  • Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses & prepare reports on all aspects of the critical facility infrastructure operations & maintenance.
  • Help with the design, implementation, commissioning and build out of new facilities.
  • Create and implement projects to increase current facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability & reliability.
  • Manage the facility assets and the provision of infrastructure & inventory asset management.
  • Manage the on-site management of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed, is observing established practices, procedures & local legislation.
  • Work with other business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimise plant safety, performance, reliability, sustainability and efficiency.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field. Hold or be able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance.
