News Producer Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled News Producer to join our dynamic team. As a key member of the production team, you will be responsible for creating engaging and accurate news content.

The role involves editing and assembling vision and packages for assigned stories and breaking news, ensuring all content is error-free and delivered to tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop compelling news content through writing and editing.
  • Design and create visual elements using VIZ software.
  • Cut and assemble video segments using Quantel program.
  • Collaborate with reporters in the field to coordinate live crosses.
  • Assist in the edit of field packages and assemble visual elements.
  • Write news lines for the on-air ticker.
  • Support line producing from the control room where required.
Requirements:
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Sound editorial judgement.
  • Effective time management skills with ability to multitask under pressure.
  • Flexible work schedule with understanding of 24/7 newsroom operations.
