About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Junior Electronics Engineer to join our team as a Product Development Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate engineer to contribute to product design and testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define product design including relevant drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials
  • Validate designs through prototyping, testing, recording, and assessment of results
  • Estimate and define validation steps within the validation function of the project
  • Ensure project milestones are met
  • Ensure that product designs comply with all relevant standards and approval requirements
  • Monitor and control life test experiments over the life of the product
  • Provide design engineering support to reduce production costs and improve reliability, quality, and performance
  • Establish testing methods and test platforms to carry out testing accordingly
  • Ensure that test platforms, instruments, and equipment are available to enable the execution of laboratory testing
  • Carry out comparative testing on competitor's products
  • Prepare reports and provide recommendations for actions according to time schedules and constraints of each project, for senior management review
Accountabilities
  • Clear communication and ability to report to a committee on testing performed
  • An ability to convey and discuss concepts and issues detected or predicted
  • Persuade team members of your opinion, but also be able to take direction when you do not agree
  • Work in a group as part of a project team, reporting into the project team on a weekly basis
  • Take direction from manager and senior team members
  • Ensure duties are performed in a safe manner
  • You will be responsible for personal compliance with all company policies and procedures to control OHS, environmental, and other risks, and to ensure compliance with business and legal requirements
  • Actively participating in the implementation of policies, procedures, and other elements of Quality, OHS, and Environmental Management Systems
Requirements
  • Degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering
  • At least 1 to 2 years in the testing of electronic devices or design of appliances or related equipment
  • Experience in solid modeling, SAP, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project would be beneficial
  • Excellent, clear, concise communication skills are imperative
  • Experience in writing work instructions
  • Experience with the use of mechanical equipment to make test jigs
  • Experience with electrical/electronic design
  • Experience with Inventor CAD design package (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience working with Australian Standards as a regulatory framework
