About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to join our team at Engineering Personnel. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of advanced battery and power electronics systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electronic modules for both commercial and research-based initiatives.
  • Translate end-user requirements into electronics specifications and designs.
  • Work closely with production and mechanical teams to overcome technical challenges and optimize integrated solutions.
  • Implement and troubleshoot communication protocols between modules and controllers, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Document designs, schematics, block diagrams, and project activities, using version control systems to maintain accuracy and consistency.
  • Engage directly with clients to understand their needs and take ownership of ensuring their satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain open, effective, and respectful communication with all staff, clients, and suppliers, fostering a positive and collaborative business environment.
  • Fulfill additional engineering-focused duties as required.

Selection Criteria:

  • Essential:
    • Relevant qualifications in Electronics Engineering or a closely related field (trade certificate, diploma, or bachelor's degree).
    • Proven expertise in designing and producing electronics modules that align with project requirements.
    • Strong hands-on experience in constructing, commissioning, and testing electronic circuits.
    • In-depth knowledge of digital design and communication protocols such as CAN, Modbus, and Ethernet.
    • Extensive experience with system integration and DC Power distribution systems, including inverters, solar modules, and battery chargers.
    • Knowledge of embedded system design and programming in languages such as C++, C, and MATLAB.
    • A solid understanding of Battery Management Systems (BMS) and related battery assembly components.
    • Demonstrated experience in testing, evaluating, and troubleshooting Energy Storage Systems (ESS).
  • Desirable:
    • Experience with electronic circuit design software (e.g., Altium).
    • Proficiency in analog electronics and DC power electronics design.
    • In-depth knowledge of battery chemistries and power management systems.
    • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD drafting software (e.g., Alibre, Geomagic, SolidWorks).
