Job Title: Senior Commercial Investment Leader

The Department is seeking a highly skilled and experienced commercial investment leader to join our team in the Transport Investments Branch, Commercial Investments Division.

Job Description:
  • Lead a team of professionals representing the Minister for Finance in providing oversight and strategic policy guidance to government business enterprises (GBEs) constructing and managing nationally significant infrastructure projects.
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to drive value for money and enhance the Commonwealth's balance sheet.
  • Collaborate with other Australian Public Service departments and external experts to provide shareholder oversight, assess investment proposals, advise on structuring and financing transactions, negotiate legal and commercial agreements, and evaluate risks.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven leadership skills and experience in leading high-performing teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to develop and implement effective commercial strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Degree in commerce, finance, or a related field.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications or certifications.
