The role of Academic Director involves overseeing the academic leadership and delivery of courses within a discipline, supporting the achievement of our institution's vision, goals, and objectives. This includes ensuring academic integrity, learning and teaching design and quality, student engagement, and the academic progression of students.

This position will also focus on academic management, team leadership, and industry engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing course operations and delivery, including the Learning Management System (LMS) and all associated resources.

They will provide and support high-quality teaching, setting a standard for the academic team. Additionally, they will lead the development of industry-relevant strategies to promote student employability and oversee continuous improvement processes, including course reviews, moderation, and benchmarking to maintain quality and currency.

  • ">
  • A PhD in a discipline or field currently being taught in the School;">
  • Experience in management, and leading change and innovation within a higher education environment;">
  • Knowledge of contemporary developments in the discipline or field, informed by continuing scholarship and/or practice;">
  • Current or recent practicing experience within the discipline or field preferred;">
  • Skills in contemporary teaching, learning and assessment principles specific to the discipline or field;">
  • Experience in developing, leading, and managing high-performance teams;">
  • Experience in course development and accreditation and development of course curriculum;">
  • Demonstrated understanding of requirements associated with regulatory frameworks, especially the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2021.">
