Job Opportunity: Animal Management Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to fill a permanent role as an Animal Management Officer. This full-time position involves ensuring community safety and compliance by enforcing local laws and regulations related to animal management.

About the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Taking responsibility for compliance with relevant legislation, including the Local Government Act, Council's Local Law, Domestic Animals Act and other relevant Acts and Regulations;
  • Patrolling and enforcing on and off leash areas in public places and parks;
  • Attending to out-of-hours complaints from the public;
  • Issuing permits and supervising the placement and conditions of those permits by authorised permit holders within the municipality.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Certificate IV in Animal Control & Regulation (or equivalent) or willingness to obtain;
  • Knowledge of the Local Government Act, Road Safety Act, Road Rules Victoria, Litter Act, Domestic Animals Act and other relevant Legislation;
  • A current Victorian Driver's license;
  • A current Working with Children Check;
  • Ability to work early mornings, evenings and weekends on a rotating roster;
