We are seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Project Engineer to join our Engineering and Construction (E&C) department in Canberra. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the development of engineering designs for solar PV and battery projects, ensuring technical suitability and economic efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute engineering designs for solar PV and battery projects, including pre-design, basic engineering design, and executive project phases.
- Collaborate with local and global teams to ensure optimized designs and inclusion of technical specifications.
- Perform various engineering tasks, such as producing drawings and reports, and conducting calculations and analysis to ensure systems meet global standards.
- Work with site teams to resolve emerging issues and ensure project delivery.
- Support the development of engineering processes and procedures to ensure technical excellence and efficiency.
- Coordinate with external engineering companies and suppliers to ensure technical and economic feasibility.
- Provide technical support to internal teams during project life cycles.
- Contribute to the definition and improvement of construction vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to achieve construction excellence.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- At least 2 years' experience in planning, engineering, and design of projects for PV plants, BESS plants, substations, and high-voltage lines.
- Experience in permitting processes and coordination of external engineering companies.
- Knowledge of PV and BESS plant planning, design, and engineering, as well as power transmission systems, medium and high-voltage substation electrical equipment, and underground distribution systems.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, including strong report writing skills.
- Knowledge of Power System software and user-level proficiency in office software.
