The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Manager to lead our Transactional Services team on a 12-month parental leave contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team, preparing accurate and timely financial reports, and ensuring compliance with tax and other legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of accountants to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Maintain analyses and reconciliations of financial data and resolve queries.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls, promoting their improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with tax and other legislation, facilitating the preparation and lodgement of tax returns.
  • Manage debt servicing compliance and Power Purchase Agreement settlements.
  • Prepare BAS and other statutory returns.
  • Attend to timely payment of third parties.
  • Maintain internal controls and promote their improvement.
  • Coordinate month-end processing.
  • Oversight application of levels of authority and other policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Manage cost recoveries from related companies.
  • Monitor timesheets and credit card reconciliations.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Accounting.
  • Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage own time, work independently, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience managing and leading a team.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 suite of software for data analysis and information presentation.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and Australian statutory taxation laws.
