The role of an HSE Manager involves overseeing the development and implementation of health, safety, and environmental programs within an organization.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures that meet regulatory requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement measures to mitigate them.
- Create and maintain reports and metrics to track and evaluate the effectiveness of health, safety, and environmental programs.
- Provide training and support for employees, contractors, and visitors to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Develop emergency response plans and participate in drills and exercises to ensure preparedness.
- Investigate incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and industry groups to stay up-to-date on new regulations and best practices.
This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as expertise in health, safety, and environmental matters.
Requirements:- Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
- Proven experience in health, safety, and environmental management, preferably in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
- Certifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH are desirable but not essential.
