Biosecurity Specialist

Protect Victorian producers by ensuring compliance with plant biosecurity legislation and regulations. Collaborate with internal staff and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality services in areas such as pest and disease surveillance, biosecurity emergency preparedness and response, and certification and auditing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with internal staff and external stakeholders to achieve departmental goals.
  • Develop and implement effective biosecurity strategies and policies.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor compliance with biosecurity regulations.
  • Provide training and support to industry stakeholders on best practice biosecurity management.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary degree in Science or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a regulatory environment.
  • Knowledge of Victorian agriculture and horticulture industries.
