About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team at IHG Hotels & Resorts. As a key member of our sales and marketing team, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and increasing brand visibility in the Australasian market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Director of Sales and Marketing in market research and competitor analysis to identify target markets and opportunities for growth.
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies tailored to specific market segments, including pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, and sales tactics.
  • Create and implement sales plans to drive measurable incremental occupancy, increase average rates, and increase volume, food & beverage sales.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with potential clients, corporate partners, event planners, and local businesses through networking and attending industry events.
  • Create sales collateral, such as brochures, presentations, and promotional materials, to showcase the hotel's amenities, services, and unique selling points.
  • Identify and negotiate partnerships with relevant organizations, such as airlines, tour operators, and travel agencies, to drive bookings and increase brand visibility.
  • Pursue opportunities to source and convert conference and event leads, and successfully shift business from the competition through active engagement with the customer.
  • Provide input to the hotel's business plan and vision regarding market segment and accounts.
  • Achieve all personal and team sales goals to help maximize profitability.
  • Produce and review monthly reports to monitor performance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Marketing, Business, or Hospitality Management.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a sales capacity within Australasia with a proven track record of success.
  • Established success in revenue generation in IHG (desired).
  • Comprehension of hotel systems and revenue management principles.
  • Strong understanding of all aspects of new business hunting and strategies for key account management.
  • Proven track record of results, stimulation of higher performance standards, and vigorous pursuit of organisational and personal goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees, and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, Holiday Inn, and IHG.
  • Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, organisational, and training abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences.
  • Proactive approach to developing and maintaining strong relations with clients and stakeholders, including customers' senior management.
  • Confidence in negotiating to achieve the best outcome for the hotel, client, and third parties.
