Senior Environmental Officer Role Overview

This role involves working as a Senior Environmental Officer within the environmental sector, specifically in the area of environmental services and regulation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing services under relevant legislation such as the Environmental Protection Act 1994, Planning Act 2016, Waste Reduction and Recycling Act 2011, Coastal Protection and Management Act 1995, Queensland Heritage Act 1992, and other related laws.
  • Undertaking assessment or compliance activities, including assessing environmental risks related to applications, responding to incidents and complaints, inspecting high-risk sites, and assisting license holders in understanding their environmental obligations.
