Job Role:

The Orange Door Practitioner will provide high-quality, safe, and effective support to children, young people, and families experiencing family violence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver intake services via phone, on-site at the Orange Door facility, and through outreach visits
  • Manage a caseload effectively
  • Conduct screenings, triage, assessments, crisis responses, service planning, targeted interventions, allocation, and coordinated referrals
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support integrated risk assessment and planning
  • Apply for external resources on behalf of clients when necessary
About the Program:

The Orange Door Program brings together professionals from community organizations, Aboriginal services, and government agencies to deliver an integrated practice model and a consolidated intake point for women, children, young people, and families experiencing or who have experienced family violence.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent qualification as per the mandatory minimum requirements for specialist family violence practitioners
  • Experience, skills, and capabilities in child, youth, and family welfare
  • Well-developed risk assessment and management skills
  • Understanding of broader referral pathways and community services
  • Sound knowledge of the MARAM Framework, Best Interests Principles, and the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005
