About the Role

The Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking and serving nourishing meals for residents in a residential aged care setting.

  • Assist with daily food preparation, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
  • Support the provision of special dietary requirements for residents as specified by healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure stock levels are maintained and report to the Chef Supervisor for ordering.
  • Document and implement the Food Safety Program (FSP) in partnership with the Chef Supervisor.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Meal Preparation: Assist with day-to-day meal preparation, presentation and service to ensure excellent standards are achieved.
  2. Dietary Support: Provide support with special dietary requirements for individual residents as specified by healthcare professionals.
  3. Stock Management: Ensure accurate reporting of stock levels and order supplies as required.
  4. Food Safety: Document and implement the Food Safety Program (FSP) in partnership with the Chef Supervisor.
  5. Kitchen Hygiene: Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Requirements
  • Certificate: Hold a relevant certificate such as Certificate III in Hospitality - Commercial Cookery.
  • Experience: Possess experience in residential aged care and hospitality settings.
  • Qualifications: Hold a current National Police Certificate or be able to acquire one.

Salary Range

The successful candidate will receive a salary range of $54,000-$59,000.
