Adelaide, South Australia beBeeResponsibility Full time $55,000 - $65,000
Empower Your Community

The Leukaemia Foundation is embarking on a transformative journey to amplify its impact on key stakeholders and the Australian community. Together, we are working towards a cure for blood cancer.

Job Summary

You will be an integral part of our team as a Youth Representative, tasked with visiting schools, inspiring teachers and students, and getting them excited to participate in the World's Greatest Shave fundraising campaign. Your mission will be to bring new schools on board, reconnect with schools that haven't been involved for a while, and support schools already taking part so they can raise even more.

  • You will achieve this through emails, phone calls, in-person school visits, motivating presentations at assemblies or student forums, and by maintaining regular contact with schools during their fundraising journey.
  • You will also keep accurate records of your visits and progress, ensuring the World's Greatest Shave team can track the campaign's growth.

If you are seeking a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in fundraising, marketing, communications, events, and sales, this role is perfect for you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspiring and signing up schools to participate in the campaign.
  • Utilizing email, phone, or other digital channels to contact schools, introduce yourself, and identify the right contact for the World's Greatest Shave.
  • Visiting schools to introduce them to the World's Greatest Shave and encourage participation.
  • Delivering engaging talks to students and teachers about the cause and how they can contribute.
  • Following up with phone calls, emails, or more visits to address questions and support schools in getting started.
  • Reconnecting with past fundraisers by reaching out to schools that haven't participated recently and inviting them to rejoin.
  • Assisting schools already involved in providing the best possible experience while maximizing funds raised for Australians living with blood cancer.
  • Maintaining regular contact with schools during their fundraising to offer support, share tips, and celebrate their efforts.
  • Staying organized by keeping accurate records of the schools visited and what's planned next, sharing updates with your manager and the wider team.
Requirements:
  • To succeed in this role, you will need: confidence in speaking to groups (whether in a classroom or assembly hall), a friendly and approachable manner, and the ability to connect with people quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills – in person, over the phone, and in writing.
  • Good organization and time management skills.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle (you'll be reimbursed for your kilometres).
  • A Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one before starting).
