Scouts SA is one of the largest youth organisations in SA, with over 2500 adult volunteers and 4500 youth members. As well as our membership side we are also we are a diverse employer that operates a large commercial portfolio With 250 staff in Adelaide we operate 12 recycling depots, a retail store and a large campsite portfolio including the much loved Woodhouse in the Adelaide Hills As part of the Scouts SA team you will make a difference in the lives of our youth & contribute to a greener future whilst being in secure employment

**About the role**:
Scouts SA are currently on the lookout for a full time Youth & Community Engagement Officer to join our team based at the head office in Wayville. You will be responsible for developing and delivering various initiatives to help grow our youth membership base.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

- Support Scouts SA annual membership strategy and strategic plan
- Develop and implement a community outreach plan to engage youth and young people in Scouting
- Develop and maintain relationships with community groups, schools and youth organisations to promote Scouting
- Use Social Media and other digital platforms promote Scouting and attract new members
- Assist with all facets of event planning
- Work closely with volunteers to support Scouting activities
- Build strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders that are involved in branch events
- Improve Scouts SA brand exposure by attending community events

**About you**:

- Thorough understanding of Scouting in South Australia
- High level of written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively liaise with a wide range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience with youth and community engagement
- Ability to work as an individual and be a self-starter

**Essential**:

- South Australian Drivers Licence
- National Police Clearance - or willingness to obtain
- Working with Children Check - or willingness to obtain
