Learning Support Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Professional to join our team in 2025. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of learning support in our Secondary School.

  • This role involves working collaboratively with executive staff, overseeing the implementation of targeted intervention strategies and programs, as well as classroom support and other support for students with high learning needs.
  • The Learning Support Professional will provide active oversight of Individual Education Plan development, National Disability Coordination Area processes, disability adjustments and liaison with external providers.
Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Implementing targeted intervention strategies and programs to support students with diverse learning needs.
  • Providing classroom support and other support for students with high learning needs.
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with teachers, parents and external providers to ensure seamless delivery of support services.
  • Liaising with external providers to access additional support services for students.
  • Leading professional development opportunities for teachers to enhance their skills and knowledge in supporting students with diverse learning needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of teaching from a Christian worldview.
  • An understanding of effective practices in learning support, including intervention programs, classroom-based support and targeted support strategies.
  • Qualifications in Education and additional training or expertise in Special Education, Learning Support, or a related field would be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of inclusive education, differentiation, National Disability Coordination Area processes, and best practice intervention strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting students with diverse learning needs within a school setting.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and administration skills.
