About the Role:

The Policy and Project Officer will work closely with Subject Matter Experts to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote safety and wellbeing in ACT public schools. This role is responsible for creating frameworks, policies, and procedures that align with legislation and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with SMEs to create policies and procedures that support safety and wellbeing.
  • Review and update existing policies to ensure alignment with broader safety and wellbeing standards.
  • Develop initiatives and programs to facilitate effective policy implementation.
  • Prepare briefs and reports as required, ensuring high-quality documentation.
  • Liaise with stakeholders across various levels to advance project and policy objectives.

Requirements:

  • Must be a Permanent Resident or Citizen of Australia.
  • Proven experience in developing government policies or programs.
  • Ability to draft evidence-based policies, interpret legislation, and apply it effectively in a policy context.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders, provide feedback, and produce high-quality written briefs and reports.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in ICT, with an ability to leverage technology to achieve outcomes.
